Research Mentors

Co-Principal Investigators Eric Jacques and Scott Case will be joined by 9 core faculty mentors (see table, below, for a total of 5 women and men) and their graduate students to support the REU program through interdisciplinary research and mentoring of student participants. The faculty mentors, each experts in their respective disciplines and accomplished educators, have carefully crafted the independent but guided research topics scheduled for Summer 2021. Virginia Tech has a long history of faculty working together across departmental lines and the PI’s and faculty mentors have a demonstrated track record of collaborating on many related efforts over the years.
